       ALL ABOUT THE WRITER

Xin Chao! I am Annie Loraine Fanugon Eva, 21 years of age and a 4th-year Bachelor of Elementary Eduation student at Capiz State University-Tapaz Satellite College.

This blog is created to mainly share my meaningful experiences as one of the batch 9 exchange-students assigned at Dong Thap University, Vietnam under Sea-Teacher Program.

I had a great time meeting new people, specifically Vietnamese citizens, got in-slave with their grandeur scenic spots (both natural and man-made), learned some basic Vietnamese language, enjoyed savoring their delicious cuisines and beverages, amazed with their culture and ways of living, love how they accompanied and accommodated us full of hospitality and kindness, fascinated of their teaching and learning process in school, enjoyed dealing with my 4 section grade 2 students and got overwhelmed and please by the effort and patience of our host schools during our 21-days stay there.

Before anything else, let's ponder for a while about the SEA TEACHER Program who contributed a lot in making my biggest dream possible.

WHAT IS SEA TEACHER ALL ABOUT?

The Sea Teacher Program is intended as a project that provides opportunity to all the aspirant pre-service student-teachers in all countries included to Southeast Asia in order to gain knowledgeable teaching experiences (through practicum) in different participating universities around Southeast Asia. Also, the project enables pre-service student-teachers to develop their teaching skills and pedagogy, to encourage practicing their English skills, to allow them to acquire broader regional and world view, and of course, to expose future teachers to diverse teaching and learning situations and opportunities, and the value of flexibility. (Details taken from SEAMEO website)

The program is under the guidance of SEAMEO, the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization as a chartered intergovernmental union of aspiring countries whose purpose is to promote cooperation in education, culture and science in Southeast Asia. The duration of pre-service student exchange program lasts for a month, in a cost-sharing basis. Moreover, the schedules of the said participants were assigned weekly, divided into four sections: tours and familiarization of places, observation and teaching assistance, the week for practice teaching and reflection and working of blogs in the last part.

Aside from meeting the goals and responsibilities aligned with the objectives of SEA TEACHER Program, the author also wants to learn and take part even for a short span of time with the rich culture and traditions, attain valuable lessons and be inspired by the immense knowledge and expertise that the host and receiving university can offer to its allied agencies in education.

Now that we are done with the SEA TEACHER and SEAMEO's objectives, let's proceed in knowing the vital aspects of this blog, as follows.
